The Region of Bug River Basin (Region Dorzecza Nadbuzanskiego) stretches along Bug and Liwiec rivers. It spreads for over 200 kilometers from Polish-Belarusian border (the city of Terespol) to the cities of Wyszków and Ostrów Mazowiecka.
Natural values are undoubtedly the greatest tourist attractions of the region. Picturesque places and wide variety of naturally valuable areas make it an ideal destination for all nature lovers. Thanks to low-intensive human activity in that area, visitors can find wealthy flora and fauna with many species of birds and animals, as well as forests full of undergrowth.
By dint of excellent conditions for doing various sports, the Region of Bug River Basin is an ideal place for active tourism. Furthermore, it is characterized by high level of ecological cleanness and situated in the area called the Green Lungs of Poland.
Numerous tourist facilities together with holiday and rehabilitation centers give visitors countless possibilities of spending time. The whole region is covered with biking, hiking and water trails. All fans of ballooning, hang gliding or survival, will be delighted and surely find what they are expecting for. Indeed, every new season visitors discover some new exciting features of the region. However, the greatest value of the region is the Bug River which, is a real treat for those who like spending holiday near the water. It is one of the most important European rivers and became the Eastern border of the European Union after Poland’s accession. The river meanders in diversified, tortuous manner and typical parts of the landscape are very fast current, beautiful oxbow lakes and riparian forests.





The section of the Oder river extending between the mouth of its largest tributary, the Warta, near Kostrzyń, and the Baltic Sea is called the Lower Oder Valley
The Barycz Valley has been awarded in the EDEN competition owing to the fact that it is a region of an integrated ecosystems management with well-protected environment and well-preserved cultural traditions.
Drawsko Lake, is 1,871 ha large, 12,6 km long and 3.9 km wide (the 12th largest lake in Poland). Its maximum depth is 83 m, making it the second deepest lake in Poland.
Większość terenu wygranej destynacji znajduje się na obszarze chronionym Biebrzańskiego Parku Narodowego, który należy do największych obszarów chronionych w Polsce. Walory przyrodnicze tego terenu obejmują płynącą na tym terenie rzekę Biebrze, jej rozlewiska, torfowiska, stanowiące najrozleglejsze tereny bagienne w Polsce.
