
Barlinek - The European Capital of Nordic Walking.
Nordic Walking Centre in Barlinek provides, first in Poland, comprehensive tourist offer for all lovers of Nordic walking and active tourists. The Centre consists of 54km of marked trails of three different levels of difficulty. It consists of a total 7 tracks - 6 routes in Barlinek-Gorzow Landscape Park and 1 route on the meadows and forest areas in the Commune of Łubianka.
Nordic walking has been invented by a group of Finnish doctors and distinguished sportsmen. Walking with specially designed poles is a new and simple way to increase your activity; it is a combination of cross-country skiing and racewalking.
Barlinek and its surroundings are places where you can experience a thrilling adventure in a group of Nordic walking enthusiasts. Cosy atmosphere, perfectly marked trails, hospitable inhabitants, rich catering and hotel service (possible to accommodate 900 visitors per night) with SPA facilities make every guest, who came here once, always willing to come back for new adventures. Tourists have many possibilities of spending time including: sailing, cruising on a water bus or boat, kayaking, biking, fishing, horse riding and gathering mushrooms.
Moreover, in close vicinity of Barlinek, there are many picturesque and valuable natural places like Barlinek-Gorzow Lanscape Park or the Markowe Błota nature reserve, where you can relax in the lap of nature, walking in the woods or chilling out at the surrounding lakes.
Local Office of Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society together with Tourist Information Centre organize numerous rallies, walks and tours that show the natural beauty and protected areas of Barlinek and its surroundings. There are many periodic events related to Nordic walking such as “Wielka Siódemka Barlinecka” (The Great Seven Trails of Barlinek) or “Ziołowe Czary Mary” (Herbal Hocus-Pocus Rally) in Łubianka.

Drawsko Lake, is 1,871 ha large, 12,6 km long and 3.9 km wide (the 12th largest lake in Poland). Its maximum depth is 83 m, making it the second deepest lake in Poland.
